1991 Isuzu Rodeo Question 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual

I'm working on replacing the water pump on a friends Isuzu rodeo. And I'm having problems. Manual said it should just slide out. But I'm unable to remove this darn thing. It was sealed with with silicone.

Can you help?

Are you certain everything was removed that needs to be removed? Would you like replacement steps? If it had sealant in between you will have to peck it lose with a rubber mallet

I removed all of the seal that I could get to. And whacked it a couple of times with the mallet. And it finally came lose. The gasket was completely melted.
