Intermittent starts. Fuel pump was replaced six months ago. One day starts right up next time it could be two weeks before it starts again. Relay?

What is the symptom? "Does not start" can mean the starter does not crank the engine or it can mean the engine cranks just fine but will not fire up and run. What is happening during the two weeks the problem is occurring? What does the fuel pump have to do with this? Was it replaced in an attempt at solving the current problem?

There was only one engine available in this model, but in the future, especially when you have an engine running problem or we may need to look at the correct wiring diagram, please be sure to list the engine size.

If I can jump in here, do you hear the pump run when you turn the key to the "on" position, but not all the way to "start"? You may have to have someone turn the key on while you get down and listen. If you hear a humming sound that lasts two to three seconds, that is your pump priming the fuel system (getting the pressure up to spec). If you hear that, then I would suggest checking the sparks, and when you see that there are no sparks, we will look into checking the crankshaft position sensor and if it is sending a signal, etc.

Pump runs, car cranks. I put a tester on number one and it is getting spark. I can smell gas after cranking.

Is the service engine light on? If so, get it scanned somehow, even if you have to buy a scanner. You can buy cheap scanners on ebay or Amazon. You just need one that reads OBD2 codes.

If there are no codes, you can also try spraying some ether/starting fluid into the intake when it is not starting to see if it starts. If it starts and shuts off, then the problem is somewhere in the fuel system. If it starts and runs, then it is probably a slight lack of fuel pressure. If it does not start, then the sparks either are not strong enough or they are not on time (meaning a timing issue).
