Ignition switch stuck in on position

Ignition switch stuck in on position forward key not stuck in it crank no start started. Once other day husband couldn't get car to turn off all sudden without warning he pulled plug wires to get to turn off. Now car crank but not start switch stuck in on forward position, but key not stuck on it theft light on can't see no lights at all when can get it were you turn start cranking but switch won't go backwards key not stuck theft light on.

Hello,

It sounds like to me that the tumbler in the ignition switch has worn out. You should if you go at it jiggling the key and making sure the steering wheel doesn't have any tension on it at least get the key out. Your probably looking at changing the whole ignition switch or at least the tumbler and key.
