Sounds like you have a fuel issue. The gray smoke is excess fuel being burned. I would suggest with starting with get the codes from the computers. I am sure there are some due to the rough idle and now the no start.
We need the codes because there is not a direct correlation between the poor running condition and a no crank situation. If it cranked and just did not start, that would be different but a no crank is electrical (normally) and just a rich running engine does not normally cause that.
