I want to swap out the 2.2l 2200sfi motor that I want to swap for a motor with a bit more power but I don't know what would be easy to swap to.
was thinking a chevy 3500 turbocharged

It won't fit stick with what you have or a 2.4 and that's about it. Unless you want to spend cubic dollars and take one out of 2.0L turbo but that is a ton of work and cheaper to just buy something with more power.

How hard would it be to swap it to the 2.4L and would I have to swept the transmission to?

A 2.4 is about the same size just motor mounts maybe and a different torque converter if it's balanced different.

Are we forgetting about the entire operating system here? Everything that operates that engine was engineered for the original engine. That means the computer and all the wiring the exhaust system, the cooling system and all the accessories that attach to the engine.

Those motors were not really built for that kind of application but do what you want. You'll have to modify the computer as well and you'll still have a cavalier that really isn't worth that much it's a lot of money to spend as well as time to do it.
