I just replaced my camshaft position sensor. Now my car will not even start. My car was running perfectly fine before I switched it. Do I just out the old one back in or what? I am so confused.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Honestly, you may have just gotten a bad sensor. Before reinstalling the old one, confirm that the connector is fully installed and none of the pins were bent or pushed out causing an open circuit. Also, make sure the new sensor is fully seated. Here is a link that discusses replacement of a camshaft position sensor. Maybe it will provide something you may have missed.

If everything is good, try the old one to see if it runs. If it does, return the new one under warranty.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe
