I removed my distributor to replace the ignition coil and did not make a mark to remember what position the distributor was originally in for the firing position.

Good evening.

The good thing about Toyota is that the distributor can only go in one way. The bottom of the distributor is keyed and will only seat in one position.

I attached a picture of the distributor.

The key was turned before I replaced the distributor back in. So how can I tell if the timing is still in the right position? I put the distributor back in and it still will not start.

If it seated, it is in correctly.

How did you determine the coil was no good? How did you test it?

Did you check for spark at the spark plug?

Does it have fuel pressure?

Okay.

I need the results of those tests to help you.

Tell me if it has spark.

What is the fuel pressure?

Does it have compression?
