Gas mileage

My 88 Prelude used to get between 30 and 35 mpg but suddenly it dropped to 20 mpg. There's no noticable gas leak and I've tried different gas stations on the off chance that I was getting really bad gas. It has a new air filter and had the standard oil change less than 3 months ago. Living in a small town makes it difficult to find a mechanic that won't charge me more than the car is worth. Help!

If all else is in good tune, air cleaner good, then it could be the oxygen sensor. I have a 93 that lost 8 mpg due to this issue.

It could have jumped time, injectors could be putting more fuel through the motor more than spec or something like that, which would be "running rich". With my 1989 Honda prelude the injectors were putting more fuel through the motor than spec, which I believe was because it had jumped time.
