Problem : I get a rotten egg smell when ever I drive up a long steep hill. I have plenty of power and extra excellation if needed. I doesn't matter what the weather conditions are it can be hot or cold dry or wet I get this consistent rotten egg smell. Is this normal or should I be concerned. Currently I have 116000 KMs but this is something that my CRV did pretty much from day one. I have taken this to the dealer and they said it's normal and to try a fuel additive???

The smell is a catalytic converter smell. Either is is going bad or you have a rich engine condition.

Another item that gets the rotten egg smell is the battery if it is getting an overcharge.
