1996 Honda Odyssey 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive

after a 50 mile run down to miami and back the car wouldnt restart. Checked rotor and cap. Ok checked fuel supply. Ok accessories run. Ok. We got a tow home and it fired right up and idled nice after ariving for about ten minutes. Then switched off and same problem again. Fires right up for a few seconds but wont stay running. Checked plugs. Ok.I am not familliar with the pointless distributor. But I am guessing it might need replacement or my actual ignition switch?Any help. Much appreciated

Hi cahzz1771,

When it wouldn't start, you need to test if ignition sparks are available. Get a test lamp and connect it to the Black/Yellow wire of distributor and ensure power supply is available when ignition switch is ON and while cranking. If no power is available, the ignition siwtch is most probably bad.

Does the dash lights shows when ignition switch is turned ON and while cranking?
