I have a 86 CRX-HF that will not idle. I replaced the carburetor and the base plate and the same trouble remains. The fault occurred instantaneously. Car runs but dies when the accelerator is released. What external part would fail in this way? Also what input, or output, vaccuum or electric would effect the idle this way?

Hi David,

A faulty or non operating fuel cut solenoid would cause stalling as fuel is cut to the idling circuit.

Check if the fuel cut solenoid is working and has power supply to it with ignition switch turned ON.

The other possible cause would be a clogged idling circuit.
