Engine Cooling problem
2008 Honda Civic Automatic 25000 miles

My engine keeps overheating while I'm driving slow, stopping on stop lights, in traffic, etc. When I start driving again, it starts falling. When I accelerate really fast, for example, to pass a vehicle, the temperature shoots up almost immediately. My radiator water become zero and starts pressure coming out with collant box by making some sort of noice. Like spray.

When I'm on the highway, everything is fine. In the long ride temprature stay in 40% range and no big veriation. Any suggestions of what could be the cause for this?

Hi there,

Check that the cooling vans are coming on when the temp rises, as there is sufficient cool air flow at highway speeds, the fan is not needed but during slow stop and go traffic the fans will need to come on to drop the radiator temp to a safe level, check this first.
