1999 Honda Civic

I need to know what kind of engine I have in my 99 civic dx. I bought it used but it had an engine swap, also i was told by the seller that it was a vtec but i dont know. It has a manual transmission. I need to be aware so i know what kind of starter to get for it. So is it 1.5L or 1.6L, dohc?sohc?vtec? Theres a pic included. look on the side of cylinder head, that is where the ID is at. pretty easy to figure if it has vtec, just put it in second gear and go down a straight, low traffic road and floor it in second, when it gets at around 5,500 RPM you will feel a huge "boost" and the rpms will rev very quickly .. i dont see anybody doing a swap on a honda and NOT putting the vtec in so im certain it would be vtec.... ID should be D16y8 , if so then its 1.5L SOHC Vtec
