Problem started six months ago every once in while it would be hard to start 2-4 tries and while running occasannaly it would die (could hear a click and the entire insrament panel would shut down but it would start back up) now it has progressivly gotten worse to where it turns over but wont start. When you turn the key to the point where the instament panel should light up it dose not unless you jiggle the key or turn it to the point that it turns over, have replaced the battery and distributor mius cap and rotor

What you did is known is a wiggle test. By josteling wires you can flush out an intermitannt problem. Jigglng the key is a sign of a bad ignition switch.

I am assuming it will not crank?

I think you have 2 independent problems on this.

Take a quick look hear before you post back.

Did you look at the link?

So you are saying this is a long crank condition?

That is it cranks but takes a long time to start.
IF this is the case, the key and wiggling have nothing to do with this. Just ironic.

Does this always happen?

That is will it do it when the engine has been warmed as well as when it sat overnight?

I looked at the link.

It cranks but will not start. Warm or cold.

The instrement panel lights should come on when the ignition is turned to the next to last position, the postion before it starts to crank. This does not happen un less u jiggle it or turn it to the point it cranks.
