When I run my cars RPM's low I notice that my check engine light goes on but when I ride them high it seems to go off. Is it because it is a V-TEC that all cylinders open up at higher RPM's

Hi Tuna29,

The CEL should not be showing and you need to get a diagnostic scan done to find out what is wrong.

V-Tec engines have 2 tier cam lift and at higher RPM the valves are opened more for more air to go into the cylinders thus increasing the volumetric efficiency and power.

However it depends on the type of V-tec, some are morte of a linear type for economy and woul dopen at a lower rpm.
