My 96 honda civic has been making this noise that sounds like birds chirping really loudly. First I thought it may be the flywheel but had my clutch replaced and it's still making the noise. The higher the gear and faster I am going, the more noise it makes. I am wondering if it may be a belt or bearings somewhere?

Here is a simple test. Take a small cup of water. With th engine running, open the hood and pour a little water on the belts. See if the sound changes. Make sure to protect your eyes and wear old clothes because the water can fling at you.

Let me know what you find.
