Engine Mechanical problem
1992 Honda Civic 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

for a code or a stamp on piston rod caps just in case u got them mixed up while u were replacing the rod bearings on a d15 1.5liter? I'm new at rebuilding any kind of motor. And how long if I cross my fingers would it take my motor to last if the rod caps are wrong, estimation is fine?

Hi Techmaster,

One one side of the con rod caps a number would be punched across both halves and you only need to match them to confirm if they are the correct pair.

If you got the caps wrong, The engine might last a few minutes or a lifetime depending on your luck.

I normally do replacement one at a time to prevent such mistakes.
