Starting Problem

I have a 1996 Accord LX 6 cyl, 4 Door with 78.000 miles.

Sometimes when I start the car, something causes a heavy vibratiion under the hood for about 10 seconds and then settles down. The car then runs with no problems once the car is in drive other than idling fast at stop signs, etc. When I park the car, it vibrates lightly for about 2 minutes.

On 2 occasions, the car would not start after vibrating when I started the car. My repair shop recommends an IAC valve or pulling off the engine top and draining out fuel that is being dumped when I start the car.

I'm sorry, I don't know what trouble codes are as I am not a mechanic.

Call you local auto part stores and ask if they would scan your car for trouble codes for free and that you will buy your parts that you need from them if they do. Ask them what the codes mean or post them hear and you should have a answer of why its doing that.
