1997 Honda Accord SE 4 cylinder(F22b2) non Vtec.I just got my harmonic balancer, spark plugs, spark plug wires, timing belt, power steering belt, alternator with a/c belt and radiator fans changed. It has some leaks not sure where but I think they are only oil leaks and not any other fluids.Well I just got my car back from a my moms "friend" mechanic and my engine is still loud like a tractor but it doesn't over heat or cut off. Here's a video.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQv9r7sz4Qw .Thanks in advance.

First make sure that your oil level is at the full mark, if not add oil till it is at the full mark but not above it. Second possibility could be that your valves need adjusting. Lastly it could possibly be a connecting rod knock, but hopefully it isn't that. I think one of the first two things should get rid of you noise.

I have something for you to try. Turn off the a/c and see if the noise goes away. Next try taking the belt off the power steering and see if that eliminates the noise.

Oh I never turn on my a/c, one of the a/c lines is messed up. The mechanic did like a ghetto wiring setup for the radiator fans now they turn on when I turn the key to on.I do need a oil change so when I get money I'm a do that, the last oil change I did was like 5 to 30 miles miles ago and I put that Castrol Synthetic oil with a mobile 1 oil filter.I'm a go with adjusting my valves but I had someone on gen5alive. Com say that it sounds like a rod knock. Most likely I'm thinkin the mechanic would forget to connect something.I'm a noob and scared to take off my valve cover but I been really thinking of doing that plus I have a valve cover gasket set that never got to be installed.
