I have a 91 honda civic with the original struts and springs. They still operate very well. You can do the bounce test to see it the struts are bad. The test is to push down on one corner of the car to get the car bouncing alittle, then let go and if the car stops bouncing in around one bounce then the struts are still good. Next is to visually check the struts for signs of oil leaking from the strut cartridge, any leakage is a sign the strut needs to be replace soon.

I hope you guys can help. Have a 93 accord with 120,000 miles. I just got the front and rear shocks and struts done and now when I drive there is a annoying sweaking noise coming from the back. Any thoughts as to what it could be and if it needs addressing?

The tech may not have lubed the new bushing and that is why they may be making noise.

Thanks I will check it out. Do you think there was damage done. It has been maybe 2months, about 1500-1800 miles.
