1989 Honda Accord 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

If the alternator charges the battery, why do I have to get a boost to start my car? The horn sounds clear the radio come on, but as soon as I'm complete with my 8 hr shift I need a boost. Please help.

If alternator is reconditioning the battery and you needing a jump after that 8hrs-sounds like a short circuit within the electrical system that's eating up the battery-Battery drain test below
