My low beam head lights work, but the high beam ones do not. Could it be a problem with the wiring? I have no knowledge of vehicles.

Welcome to 2CarPros!

It's always good to start with the basics. I would begin by checked both bulbs to make sure the high bean portion of the bulb isn't burned out. It's possible you've been driving on only one high beam but didn't realize it until the second one finally burned out. If both bulbs are okay, the issue is mostly likely a bad multi-function switch(control stalk on left side of steering column for turn signals and high beams).
