I have the parts to fix both my heater core blend door and heater core actuator. I also bought k seal to try and fix the leak before I try to take out my whole dash to replace the heater core if it doesn’t work.

When I went to change blend door I expected a mess of coolant everywhere. In the pictures attached you will see the mess. What’s the best way to go about cleaning this? I question using liquid cleaner but I don’t really know anything else that could clean it? Any input would be great. Thank you!

The strongest thing I can think of would be brake cleaner. I would spray it on a rag first, and then wipe it on the areas to be cleaned. It does look like you have a mess on your hands. It will clean up for you.

As far as the heater core, I attached the directions below for the removal and replacement of the core. I'm adding them in the event you need them. To get you started, here is a link that explains in general how it's done. The attachments below are the directions specific to your vehicle. I started with dash removal and then heater core removal. It's a big job, so hang in there.

Let me know if you have questions or if there is something I can do to help.

Take care,
