The low beam headlight stopped working, do I need to replace the entire housing unit?

Hi,

My passenger low beam bulb went out a few days ago. So, I thought no biggie. I took it to Monroe muffler who put a new bulb in but still didn't work. So, I thought let me take it to my old school mechanic thinking it's an electrical issue. So, today I did that, and he told me that the ground connector to the bulb is broken and missing, so you need a whole new housing unit. I said even though all the other bulbs work fine. He said yes
They don't just sell one connector for the low beam area.
Just thought I'd ask here for your opinion.

Hi,

Looking at the wiring schematic, that is possible. However, if the ground wire is damaged, all you need to do is replace it.

I attached the wiring schematic below. Note that each headlamp bulb has a separate fuse. Confirm the one for the right low beam is good. The fuse is under the hood in the fuel box. I attached two pics below. Check that fuse to confirm it is good.

Also, I don't understand why you can't get a replacement socket. Did he explain?

Let me know.

Joe
