From a collision, this vehicle hit a parked Civic, appearing to ride up onto the front of the civic and pushing it back a good four feet. The Yukon suffered no cosmetic damage except for scratches to the bumper, where touchup paint covers once exposed black primer. No other damages however after a few days of mixed driving (side streets and freeway - 100+miles the transmission in all wheel drive is rough and after further inspection it appears the front of the engine was pushed up a inch, inch and a half. No hoses broken, no leaking fluids.

1. Can the front of the engine be lowered back down on the front mounts easily?

2. Will shifting the now rough transmission into rear wheel drive only, cause further damage or will it ease the roughness?

3. If all of this is done in a shop, what is your estimate to perform this work?

Thanks

An estimate is impossible to guess without knowing what is wrong. Sounds like it may have broken the motor mounts and or trans mount. If there is no frame damage, this would run about 10 hours of labor for both front mounts and the trans mount, then depending on the engine size the motor mounts are $90 - $125 each with the trans mount being $25 - $40. If the mounts are indeed broken. If not you will need to take a trip to a frame shop to have it measured to see if it is bent
