I just purchased my Yukon and noticed transmission fluid in my airbox and all over the filter. How and where did this come from? It also sounds as if the torque converter is whining, only in gear, is one the cause of the other? I have heard its a vacuum modulator or just the converter going out. The truck shifts fine and no slipping so Im lost. Please help!

Are you sure it is transmission fluid. It is more likely to be air filter oil. Some air filters like a K&N require oil ,that is the color of transmission fluid, to be sprayed on them...

The fluid is reddish and is only on the bottom of the airfilter and in the bottom of the air box. About 3oz of fluid in the air box.

Im sure its not air filter oil 100%. Is there any way for tranny fluid to get into the intake?

Unless tranny fluid was intentionally put there or the engine was filled with tranny fluid by mistake (in which case it would have failed by now) - I would say NO. It is impossible for transmisson fluid to get into the air filter/air box.

That what I thought! Any guess on the dancing fuel gauge? Oh and it sounds as if my tranny is whining but the shifting is excellent. Any ideas?

the oil pressure gauge is also jerky but not near as bad as the gas gauge and the voltage gauge jumps with the blinker on?
