I bought a sonoma a few months ago and in the mornings when I start the truck the oil pressure stays around 75-80 and slowly drops to 40 as the truck warms up. If I rev it up or drive the oil pressure goes back up to 60-65 and when im driving on the highway it rises up to 65-70. I use pennzoil synthetic oil and it runs fine other then the oil pressure being really high. It doesnt leak oil and hasnt blown any seals could the gauge just not be working right?

Check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge, if normal replace the oil pressure switch. If abnormal could mean oil pump and/or engine bearing.
