2000 GMC Sierra won't start

New to the forum and a pretty vague question that matches my mind.

truck was running fine and now nothing. Turns over, plenty of gas, oil, well maintained and not a hint there was anything wrong till this morning. Is there a quick check list of things to look at before I call a tow truck?

My best guess would be Distributor cap and rotor and quite possibly a coil. I had a 97' in which the cap shorted out for no reason.

But for some reason it started this morning. Didn't even kick the tire.

Found out that another pump w/ install is $800!

Guess I'll drive it til it breaks again since they can't confirm it was the pu, p to begin with
