1989 GMC Sierra wont start

Engine Mechanical problem
1989 GMC Sierra V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 57k miles

89 gmc 3500 4x4 cranks but wont start however it will run when u use starter fliud then dies when the starter fluid burns up, I checked the coil, fuel filter, fuel pump relay, and fuel pump, I noticed that the parking lights arent going on when I try to turn them on, the head lights go on when I pull the switch all the way out but no parking tail or marker lights,
i also noticed when I turn the key on the ck engine light doesnt come on. I wonder if that has anything to do with the truck not starting?
