I have a 94 Siverado. After I finish filling up at the pump I smell gas in the cab. Just recently, however I had the same gas smell when I turned on my defroster, and also when I am idleing.
I haven't noticed a drop in my fuel consumption, and my engine is running perfectly.

Check around the engine for moisture... One of the fuel lines may be spraying fuel into the bay. You should be able to see it.
