It seems to me that you should have some concerns about this.If you lost that much oil in that short of time and miles somethings not right. Can you tell if
it leaked out around filter or pan drain plug? Possibly
someone got in too big a hurry and didn't get things tightened up quite right? Hearing noises like you say is not a good thing to me! Hopefully you stopped in time before any major damage could be done. Keep fingers crossed , hope everything comes out smooth!!

Definatly that sounds like what happened. Keep all paperwork that they gave you, just incase they say they didn't do it.

Suggested Repair

Have the dealer inspect the oil filter and oil pan drain plug for leaks or improper tightening after the oil change. Keep all paperwork. Because the oil light came on and the engine made a rubbing noise after about 15 miles, have the engine checked for damage from low oil before further driving.

Conversation Summary

After a dealer oil change on a 2005 Sunfire, the oil light came on and the engine made a loud rubbing noise after about 15 miles. The dealer towed the car for inspection. Experts said losing that much oil so quickly suggests a leak, possibly from a loose filter or drain plug, and that the noise raises concern for engine damage. They advised keeping all paperwork in case the shop disputes responsibility.
