I am a typical girl. I know very, very little about cars. All I know is that my 2001 Chevy Cavalier thumps when I drive it (like when a tire is flat) yet there is no flat tire. Also, my steering wheel shakes. If anyone has any idea as to what could be wrong with my car, please let me know.

Thanks.

Look at your tires and see if you can see any unusual worn spots on them that might give you the funny feeling in your steering wheel. Then you should take it to a shop you think you can trust and have the front end alignement checked. Odds are you need a alignement, as when it gets out of line you can get a shaky feeling, also does it seem to pull one way or the other? Be sure to check the sidewalls of your tires for funny looking bubbles on them, too. You will probably need a couple of new tires after you have the alignement or you will be right back where you started from. This should have you road-ready again. Good luck :P
