I have a 1992 Grand AM GT and the fuel door doesn't pop itself open -- I've driven myself nuts looking for the secret for a self-opening gas door (yes, if i hold it while i manually pull it the door does open - the cable is fine)...anyone have any suggestions? I have even gone so far as to remove the plastic from around the fuel hole area!!!! I can't seem to find anyone else on the internet out there with this problem! HELP

Small world Mr. West.

I've actually had this problem on my 98 GA. There was too much slack on the remote cable caused by a damage fuel door lever. Take off the fuel door release lever next to the driver seat and inspect it for any damage. On the other hand, I could check it out next time I stop up by you. :P
