1989 Other GMC Models 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I just bought a 1989 GMC astro Van Started right up when I bought it. Took it to put gass in it and it ran out on the way to the gas station. Since then it is hard to start and when it does start you have to keep your foot on the gas peddle can you tell me where to start to fix it?

1st you need to confrim that the fuel pump is producing the correct fuel pressure by using a fuel pressure gauge. Pressure checks out-inspect and test the coolant temperature and throttle position sensors and idle air control valve cleaned out and tested.
