2000 GMC Jimmy Key won't come out, car won't start, no powe

Hi,

So I went to start my car and I turned the key and all the lights came on like normal and right before the engine would have normally come on, everything shut down and I cannot get my key out. The steering wheel is not locked. The key won't turn back far enough to come out. We tried jumping it and it does not appear to be battery related. I just had a new radiator put in about a week ago but other than that I have had no other trouble. Any ideas?

I have had the same problem twice. Both times it was caused by a loose battery cable. I'd suggest checking your battery cables. It's a very quick fix. I've had my mechanic put new posts on my battery and haven't had any more problems. Hope this helps you.
