I put my car in drive when it gets between 2000 and 2500 rpm the motor races. I have to put it into 2nd. I believe my drive gear is gone. I have 2nd, 1st and reverse. Will I need a new transmission

Hi there,

this is not sounding good, you better get into a transmission specialist for a test and report, it may be a simple fix but with out being able to do some tests and have a drive it is a bit hard to tell, this is something that need to be tested first hand.
