car shutting down

My car is a 1990 Geo Prism that has a Toyota engine put into it's frame. It sometimes shuts down when I'm stopped at a stop light or backing out of a parking spot (when I'm not pressing on the gas). When it does this it sometimes it won't start for a couple of days. Any idea what might be wrong with my car?

Check the fuel pressure, it may be the pump or a clogged system, or possibly a relay.
If pressure is OK, then try the ignition module, they can fail intermittenly then work for a while again.
