Good morning, the vehicle's gear lever stuck in park with the Engine running, I was able to pull it from Park position by pressing one button close to the gear selector, once the button is released, it won't move any more.
What could be the cause and how can it be fixed?

More then likely this is the shift interlock. When you press the brake pedal with the vehicle in park and the engine running do you hear a clicking from the shifter? If not, then that solenoid is not releasing the shifter and allowing it to move.

That button that you are pressing is the bypass to allow you to move the shifter to get it into neutral if you have to tow it.

I would remove the cover for the shifter and you will see under where the release button is the actuator contacts. More then likely you don't have power on this circuit or the actuator has failed.
