] My Ford used to drive without any funny noises but it only started recently to have this funny noise when driving could this be caused by a hole in my exhaust?
] I have a problem with my gear no2 sometimes I struggle to engage it I use to think maybe I wasn't depressing my clutch as per required but this isn't the problem coz I do make sure it is which is not with the rest of other gears.
] how best can I tell my shocks are no longer good?
] Can a manual steering be converted to a power steering one?

We don't have that vehicle in US but have noise check by a local pro. If clutch is hydraulic check fluid level it may be low if not then check for a bad cable or out of adjustment. For manual steering most cars can be converted to p/s but normally it costs a lot of money as a different rack would need to be installed along with pump, lines etc. For your shocks, se if they leak first, if not if they are original ones then just replace them due to your mileage on vehicle.
