My car won't start, the symptoms sound like my fuel filter needs to be replaced. AutoZone told me the fuel filter for my car is non-serviceable, what does this mean?

Hi,

The fuel filter is located in the fuel tank and integral to the fuel module.

An easy way to check if it is a fuel-related issue is this. See if it starts for a couple of seconds using starting fluid. If it does and then stalls, we know it is fuel related.

If there is no change, I need you to check for a spark at the plugs.

Here is a link that explains how it's done:

As far as the fuel filter is concerned, normally, you will notice issues prior to it plugging. Did you experience power loss, a delayed start, or anything other that was odd?

Let me know.

My car was kind of bogging out and giving me a hard time to start up for a about a week before it just decided to stop starting. I went to the store and my car just wouldn't start to go home.

Hi,

If it is presently not starting, see if it does with starting fluid. If it starts and then stalls, we know its fuel related. If it doesn't make a difference, then we need to check for ignition issues as mentioned.

Ler me know if the mileage you indicated is the actual mileage on the engine.

Let me know.
