The truck listed above is 2500. Everything was fine. I drove home from work. No lights were on when parked. When I let the dogs out around 9:30pm the front passenger marker light was on and couldn’t get it to turn off. Drained the battery. I changed all bulbs and fuses are good. Any help would be really appreciated a lot!

Hello!

It sounds like the park lamp relay in the under-hood fuse block may be malfunctioning. Please check out the diagram (below). These repair guides may help you track down the fault:

Please let us know what you find or if you need any further assistance, and we would be happy to help.

Thanks, Wendy W

Hi Wendy, yes, I did replace that and all fuses and it’s still on there is constant power going to that one side. I took the assembly off yesterday and there is power going to that passenger side front only. Any other ideas?

Thanks for responding!

It sounds like you're on the right track tracing out the issue.

I'm curious, if you pull the right parking light fuse, are you still getting power at the passenger side front marker lamp?

Has the vehicle been in an accident or had any other repairs recently, or is there aftermarket trailer wiring?

Thanks! Wendy W.

Yes, if you pull the fuse, it still stays on. And no, it hasn’t. I bought the truck a year ago and it has been excellent except for this issue. I checked all grounds fuses and everything. I don’t know where to go now, lol.

It seems like you've been able to narrow down the issue, somewhere between the under-hood fuse block and the light socket.

It's possible that the park lamp wiring is shorting into another circuit. Sometimes a wiring harness crosses paths with another harness and two or more circuits end up touching. If you wiggle the wiring harness in that area, does the light go out intermittently?

How do the light sockets look on that side, including for the turn signals? Are they in overall good condition?

Thanks! Wendy W.

When you wiggle the harness, nothing happens, they look good I took out both light assembly’s yesterday and it looked good. Could it have something to do with the trailer wiring? Just a question. I haven’t tried pulling that fuse yet just to see what happens.

Yes, it's possible there could be a short in the trailer wiring harness. I've attached those schematics for you (below).

Please let us know what you find.

Thanks! Wendy W.

With the key on, are the rest of the exterior lights functioning properly?

Has the vehicle set any OBD II codes that you know of?

If the circuit is cross-feeding with another circuit, you may be able to remove fuses, one at a time, to see if the light goes out. That might help narrow down which circuits are involved. I've attached detailed descriptions of the under-hood fuse block so you can see which ones involve the exterior lights.

Please let me know what you find, Wendy W.

No interior lights with door open just with the switch. And the passenger mirror blinker is pulsing instead of blinking.

All exterior lights function good. Except the passenger mirror you turned the blinker on, it stays on and just pulses with the light still on.

Hello,

Thank you very much for running those tests.

There are two grounds in the exterior lighting wiring harness that you might want to check. They're circled in red on the schematic below.

Another possibility is that there is a fault in the BCM (body control module). Please see the schematic below. Notice that the courtesy light, turn signal, and parking lamps all communicate with the BCM. Please note that the negative battery cable should be disconnected before unplugging the BCM to avoid possible damage to the unit.

Here's a repair guide on what to expect when replacing a BCM:

If you need any further information, please let me know.

Thanks! Wendy W.

Was there ever a resolution to this issue. I have the exact same problem. The passenger front turn signal stays on with the truck and light switch off. And the passenger mirror turn signal pulsates.
