Why does the engine light flash on and off? Also the headlights go dim and then back to normal while driving. Also there is a click about every 45 seconds coming from alternator, power steering

Ok there is no way to know why the engine light is flashing without scanning the computer for codes, it usually means a misfire, but we cannot be sure in this case, so I recommend that you go to autozone and have them scan for codes, write them down and bring them to me for further diagnosis. The lights are blinkin mostlikely because the alternator is not charging the battery correctly, and the voltage regulator may be faulty, autozone can check that too, while it is still in the vehicle. Let me know what codes come up on the scanner. And also do not take any suggestions from them, I have too many complaints from people about this. They do not know what they are talking about
