This truck is taking very well care of, it has of course many new parts. It runs beautiful you can't even tell it is started. Anyway my problem is, it is hard to turn over, and sometimes It won't start at all and I have to wait about 15 min. Then it will start. The fuel is getting to where it has to go because when you bleed it, it is right there. I have a new battery, I'm thinking the timing chain but this has been going on for a while and the timming chain would have went by now. Maybe the spark plugs but the truck runs too good for that, and I have also though of the coils. The check engine light does not come on, I am just lost can someone please help me. Should I just replace all those things?

I have a 1991 Explorer with 225,000 miles that when you turn it over when it's cold is a hard starter and sputters but tries to start. After a few tries it usually starts up but it also acts as if its out of gas if you floor the pedal all the way. I believe my prob is the fuel pump or the regulator, I was just curious if yours behaved that way too.

No, mine does it even when it's warm, I've tried the peddal to the floor thing and that doesn't work, I got stuck today at a car dealership for a whole hour before it started up again, someone there told me he had the same vehical and it did the same thing, he said that everytime the truck would shut off the suction from the filter would hold the dirt and rust on the filter screen and once the suction gave, and the rust and dirt fell the truck would start back up, that basically sounds like what is going on, so I just bought a new filter, ($ 15.00 ) but I haven't put it in yet, hopefully that is it. I will update you, should have it on by tomorrow.

Hard starting if the engine cranks at normal cranking speed.A tune-up is generally in order! Plug gap is probablly at fault.
