I have a 1994 Ford Tempo with a 2.3 Liter in it I am trying to figure out how many lifters are in me engine?

There is 1 lifter for each valve in the cylinder head. If you removed the valve cover you could count the push rods/rocker arms and that would give you the number of valves and lifters.I beleive that number is 8.2 for each cylinder.1 exhaust valve and 1 intake valve per cylinder.
