My 1992 tempo driver and passenger side window dont go up or down when I press button unless i press button and help windows go up and down manually though the motors are working and as I do this genltly hold window and pressing button they will go up and down. How can I fix this, I am guessing that the previous owner may have locked keys in car and forced windows down?? Thank You

this is common problem with all electric window motors.they have a safety/overheat switch inside motor housing.if you disassemble and bypass/jumper you can get it working again.another possiblity with the tempo motor is the gear drive has nylon couplers(look like little whiskey barrels) in the gear drive assembly part of motor.if they are sufficiently worn/damaged the gears slip easily.you can substitute a sawed off section of a bolt/rod about the same size to get working again.first test motor in door by unplugging and applying 12 volts to see if you have an electrical power problem.
