Taurus life?

2000 Taurus SE SW, mileage 110,000. Just wondering, based on your experience, how many miles could I even hope to get out of my Taurus? We have followed all of the manufacturer's maintainence recommendations and replaced faulty parts as necessary--only major replacement and just done, tranmission overhaul (ouch!). For the last two years and for the foreseeable future, it is the second car and not often driven. What major things can we expect to go bad next, and any guess as to whether we'll be able to get our money's worth out of the overhaul?

nothing to major beside fuel pump or heater core. a few sensors MAY go out but not likely also youll have to change the sparkers :P

probably at least make it to 200k miles tarus's are pretty decent cars

I just junked my 87 Taurus MT5 wagon, four cylinder 5 speed.. serious body rusting issues 187k miles, 2nd best car I've ever owned, first was 1979 Pinto, hold the laughter... I could have continued using the 87, however the rust was extensive, I figured to be safe it had to go, I hated myself for doing it, I bought it new, now I only have three left, 93, 94 wagon, and 99 duratec wagon.. thank god Ford is keeping them going, I'm a happy man.. change the oil regularly and for god's sake, if it starts heating up toward the red zone, call a tow truck.. overheating these engines, short of running with no oil, is the absolute worst thing you can do, these are not your father's 1963 Ford engine
