It is a 89 Ford Taurus. 4cylinder. 145kmiles. I wiggled the red battery wire and it came out. I wiggled it because it wouldn't start. And the wire came out So I went to Auto Zone and bought the end metal piece for the wire and put it back on. I hooked both red and black wires to the battery. The lights will come on occasionally and then I turn the ignition and nothing happens. The battery was taken to wal mart to be charged up. It's @ 100% and still nothing happens. Any suggestions?

I would suggest take the new battery clamp back off and cut the wire back about 2-3 inches until you see good clean wire. Usually corrosion starts to build up in the end of the wires and you won't have a good contact between the metals. Then make sure everything is TIGHT. That is very important. Good Luck.

The problem WAS the corrosion. I cleaned the wires up and the ground wire or black wire was very loose so I clamped it back down and all better.
