Recently replaced my starter motor after that when I start my car it idles up to 3k rpm why and how can I fix it

Hi:
I don't think the starter had anything to do with that. Is there a check engine light on? To me is sounds like a idle air control (IAC) or a throttle position sensor (TPS). Start by having the computer scanned for codes. Many parts stores will do it for free. Also, check around where you were working to make sure you didn't bump or damage any vacuum hoses.
