2001 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

is there a way for me to find out if my fuel pump relay needs to be replaced without taken it to the local auto shop? My car doesn't want to start. It has a new battery, the starter is good as-well. The car cranks but doesn't turn over. When I place the key in the on position I do not hear the fuel pump turn on. I was told it may just be the relay, and once thats ruled out more than likely it would be my fuel pump

Hi there,

First check the fuel pump fuse in the fuse box and the relay is in the battery junction box under the bonnet next to the battery, if these are ok, I would be suspecting a pump failure.

Can you hear fuel pump turning on when key is first turned? If not, check fuse to fuel pump and also fuel pump relay.
