During the winter, my car windows ice up on the inside of the car. I have been to 2 dealerships and 2 private mechanics. No one knows why this happens. It can happen as I drive down the highway. I end up scraping the windows on the inside as I drive while running the defrost on high at full blast. I am at a loss as to why this happens and no one seems to have seen this before.

This is because the air inside your car is saturated with water and can't 'hold' that water anymore. This is what is called 'dew point' (when the water contained in the air starts to condensate).
The condensation then freeze on your window because of the low temperature outside.

Here are a few suggestions:

-Do not leave anything wet inside your car
-Do not recirculate the air
-turning your AC on can actually help to get rid of the extra moisture
